Fees Policy
Policy Statement
This practice aims to ensure that all patients are fully informed of any fees they may be required to pay before treatment begins. Patients will receive clear information about:
- The treatment being provided.
- Whether the treatment is provided under the National Health Service (NHS) or privately.
- The cost of the proposed treatment.
- When payment is due.
For private treatment only, fees may apply for appointments that are missed, cancelled, or rescheduled outside the practice's appointment policy.
Private Treatment Appointment Policy
Patients receiving private treatment are advised that charges may apply if the practice's appointment policy is not followed.
A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or rearrange an appointment. Where less than 48 hours' notice is provided, cancellation charges may apply.
Consultation and hygiene appointments: The full deposit may be retained if the required notice is not given.
Treatment appointments: Any cancellation charge or deposit retained will depend on the type of treatment, the appointment length, and whether the appointment is with a general clinician or a specialist.
The practice reserves the right to request deposits for private appointments where appropriate. To ensure patients are fully informed:
- A current treatment fee list is displayed at reception and published on the practice website.
- Written treatment estimates are provided electronically through treatment plans, letters, or printed estimates where appropriate.
- The appointment cancellation policy is displayed in the waiting area, published on the practice website, and included in the patient information leaflet.
- If a treatment plan changes, a revised estimate will be provided. Patients will be asked to review and sign the updated treatment plan electronically before the revised treatment commences.
- Where guarantees are offered, the terms and conditions will be clearly explained to the patient. For NHS treatment, relevant information is provided on the FP17DC form, and patients will receive a copy.
